And, I am sorry for the huge entry here, but there is a lot of information!
Now last week, during the meeting, we decided to go green and not print a million of copies of the newsletter. Unfortunately, though I am still dabbling with Adobe PDFs and other fun things like that, I have yet to transition the newsletter from my computer to the Internet.
But don't you fear. In the mean time, I just wanted to hit the main subjects from it here. Then, hopefully by next meeting (cross your fingers!) I will have fixed it all.
1] We have a new board.
I know you are well aware of this fact by now, but this is in case you somehow did not know. Don't know the board? Check the JLHS Key Club's profile!
2] The Blog.
We have a blog. Just in case I fooled you here :]!
3] March of Dimes.
Now these were two of my favorite articles, so I would like to post it here!
JLHS KeyClub Helps Out!
"Just recently some fellow Key Clubbers took part in the March of Dimes Walk. March of Dimes is an organization whose goal is to help prevent birth defects and disorders in young infant babies. Held along the Avon/Belmar beach, Jackson Key Club helped the March of Dimes fight for the health of babies. Overall the walk was extremely successful. It was not only extremely fun, but inspiring. Many walkers had t-shirts in memory of a beloved, and there were tons of people there. When the March of Dimes marched down the streets of Belmar they were dedicated and for good reason. For more information on the March of Dimes check their official website."
And in addition,
Celebrities involved with March of Dimes?
"According to the Key Club International’s Facebook, not just Key Clubbers walked the March of Dimes route in Nashville Tennessee! Kelly Clarkson walked as well (you may know her as the first winner of American Idol)! She is known for many of her hits such as Miss Independent, My life would suck without you and many more. Despite the rain and horrible weather that plagued the walk, Kelly, and many more determined walkers finished the route on the hope of helping innocent babies.
Key Clubbers who were at the walk got to meet Kelly, but when they did Kelly was thanking them! The Key Club International’s Facebook says that Kelly had thanked all for their support and their coming!
What an inspiration!
All information stated above can be found on the Key Club International Facebook. (All credit including the picture goes to Key Club International)."

4] Articles.
Let’s face it – not every key clubber makes every single event. This is why we need everybody’s help! Take your camera to the next event! Take pictures of everyone having a great time. If pictures aren’t your thing then write a short article about it, interview someone, etc. The newsletter could use another person’s voice in describing their experiences at certain events!
Articles do not have to be very long (maximum though is 400 words!) Once the article is written you can either find one of the board members who could find myself (Alexia – the editor – hi nice to meet you!), hand it to me directly (I will stay after for Key Club every Wednesdays for board and regular meetings, and I have A lunch in the C Cafeteria if you want to hunt me down). However please hand them to me soon after the event has taken place so I could put it in the next newsletter. Entries can either be hand written or typed.
Alrighty, that's it for now. Later in the week I will be posting our first charity of the week! So tune in!
Just enough time for a Quote of the Day: “There is power when you give!” – Pedro, Indiana Key Clubber.
Thanks for reading all of this!
Your Editor,
Alexia.
